Construction of the neo-gothic Chapel commenced in 1901 and concluded in March 1902. The renowned Belgian stained-glass artist, Jules Dobbelaere, crafted the windows in 1903. Following this, the Chapel ceiling and 30,000 pieces of stained glass underwent cleaning and repairs in France. Achieving National Monument status in 1990, the Chapel has stood as a testament to Singapore’s rich heritage.
With its enduring architectural grandeur maintained over 115 years, the 19th-century neo-gothic chapel boasts an interior adorned with sparkling crystal chandeliers.
